About the CERCCLE
(Research Center on Constitutional Comparative Studies)
Professor Ferdinand Mélin-Soucramanien founded in 2003 the Centre d’Études et de Recherches Comparatives sur les Constitutions, les Libertés et l’État (CERCCLE- EA 7436)* as part of the University of Bordeaux. He then led the Research Centre as its director for seventeen years. As of September 21st, 2020, Professor Fabrice Hourquebie is the new head, with Senior Lecturer Pauline Gervier his second.
Our Academic staff within the CERCCLE oversee three different Master classes (“Droit public approfondi” (Advanced Public Law), “Droit des contentieux publics” (Public litigations) et “Droit public comparé” (Comparative public law). We operate within both the University of Bordeaux’s doctoral school and the Department “Droit et transformations sociales” (Law and social changes). At national and international levels, our members belong to the Association française de droit constitutionnel (French association for constitutional law) and, consequently, to the Association internationale de droit constitutionnel (International association for constitutional law). We are proud of our international outlook, thanks to the numerous partnerships we have sowed over the years with domestic and foreign universities.
Our team is made of :
- seven full professors, Catherine Gauthier, Fabrice Hourquebie, Ferdinand Mélin-Soucramanien, Marie-Claire Ponthoreau, Frédérique Rueda, Charles Edouard Sénac, Jean du Bois de Gaudusson. Our ranks also bolster twelve lecturers, Clément Bénelbaz, Véronique Bertile, Caroline Braud, Carolina Cerda-Guzman, Charles Froger, Pauline Gervier, Lea Havard, Arnaud Martin, Nicolas Pauthe, Florian Savonitto, Stéphane Schott, Brigitte Vincent.
- two academic associate members : Jean-Philippe Ferreira, Anna Neyrat.
- Frédéric Potier, Préfet en mission de service public, délégué interministériel à la lutte contre le racisme et l’antisémitisme et la haine envers les personnes lesbiennes, gays, bi et trans (DILCRAH)
- As well as thirty two PhD candidates doctorants and, since 2003, forty completed PhDs docteurs.
